family ain't lie
The installation created by artist Michał Rejner is entirely made of wood, based on a classic extendable kitchen table. The artist decided to transform an object that is commonly associated with the warmth of the home, family gatherings, shared meals, and conversations full of honesty, love, and a sense of security. By flipping the table upside down and bending its elements to create a structure resembling a spider, the artist poses a question: Can we truly rely on the honesty of our loved ones? During these gatherings, are we not serving each other dishes that are mostly made up of lies? The artist invites the viewer to reflect on whether we can be completely open and count on the support and understanding of those who should offer it to us.
